13 Months

Hello again Everyone!

Just wanted to share a few moments from the last few weeks.

First of all, Mommy and Daddy took me to my first Royas game! We watched the Royals play the Minnesota Twins. We did a lot of sitting, which was ok for awhile, but eventually I got a little bored and wanted to go exploring. My parents said that was ok, though - they said I lasted 4 innings, which apparently isn't too shabby when you're one. ;) Then we did some walking and went on a merry-go-round! So, we had a fun day! But here's the sad thing - the Royals lost the game. :( But Daddy said there will be lots more games to go to in the future, so hopefully I'll see them win sometime soon!

Also, I just got done visiting with Brynn and Bradyn!! They drove ALL the way to my house, which is a LONG way, because they live in Dallas. Their parents sure are brave - I've never been in a car THAT long before - WOW!! We had so much fun, and now I get why my mommy has been harping on "soft touches" all the time. They're still kinda little - almost 5 months - so I had to be careful with them. I was a super good sharer, too, because I let them play with some of my toys that I used when I was a baby. ;) (NOW I'm an old lady - I'm ONE, remember??) I thought maybe if I shared real nice, Mommy will buy me more hair bows, hehehe! Enjoy the pictures!

Love, Emmy
Hey!! See my pigtails??? They're pretty funny, huh??

Meet Bradyn!

Meet Brynn!

I tried real hard to lift up Bradyn, but Mommy stopped me before I got a real chance. Boo, Mom!

Here's all 3 of us! We're going to be good friends!

Walking with Mommy. I still won't let go, though. Maybe soon....

All dressed up for a Chiefs game!

Happy Birthday to ME!!!

Hi Everybody!!!!

Guess what!?!? I'm 1!!!!!!!! Yeah! It happened, people! I had my very own birthday! I had to wait forever to get one, like 12 MONTHS, but Mommy says that's how long it always takes. And, Mommy says, if I'm real good and careful, and don't climb on stuff TOOOOO high, I might get another one in another 12 months! Cool!!!! :) That means more cake and presents - for ME! I love this stuff!

So, I wanted to get the partying on early, so I got up at 4:45ish that morning. I was just so excited! Mommy kept signing "Sleep" back to me, though, so I told her I'd only sleep if she was holding me. When we finally got up for good, I got to wear my birthday shirt and a fun hat for breakfast! After a nap, we went to Chucky Cheese, which is this place that has a lot of rides and fun lights and other things to look at. I had fun! My Daddy came too!! He and I played these neat games called Skeeball and Pop-a-Shot! Guess what, people - you got to use BALLS for those!! I love balls! They're so......round! And they roll! NEAT!

After another nap, people started coming over for my party. My Gran came first and brought the balloons my Mommy ordered. I had lots and lots of balloons - they were so pretty! Then my Grandma Jo came, along with my Grandpa, Uncle Dan, Cousins Barb, Kelsey, and Ryan, my Godfather Aaron and Megan and Danny, and my friend Bryan. We had lots of fun! My Uncle Dan bought me my very first CAR!!! He said he ALWAYS wanted one for himself, so that's why he bought it for me. I'm so lucky!! I can't wait to ride it, but I have to wait for the battery to charge. Then, I'm off to go shopping all by myself! I got some other neat presents too, including money for swim lessons, a sports center to practice all my mad athletic skillz, a shopping cart, to practice my mad shopping skillz (hehe!), and a tool bench, to practice my mad furniture building skillz, so I can be just like Daddy!! THEN!!! I got this pretty mushy thing called a CAKE to play in! It was really messy! Everybody kept telling me and signing for me to eat it, but I really just liked playing in it. It felt so weird! Then Mommy gave me a bath and I got to play some more before everybody went home. Then I signed sleep to mommy and daddy and crashed right away!! I had so much fun!!!

Thank you, everyone, for all the birthday wishes! I loved turning one, and now I can't wait to turn TWO!!! (all of a sudden my mommy is crying.....I have to go give her a hug.....)

Love you Everyone!!
Emily

Here I am at breakfast! Happy Birthday to ME!!

Riding the rides at Chucky Cheese. Mommy wasn't thrilled about the Barney ride. :(

Playing Pop-a-Shot with Daddy.

The tickets we earned were DELICIOUS!!

:)

Mommy, do you like my new set of wheels??

I'm having so much fun sitting on it. Can't imagine the fun I'll have once the battery is charged!

MONEY!! (for swim lessons)

Danny learned how to roll from his back to his tummy, just for my birthday!

Mmmmmm.....that looks yummy!

It feels kinda weird....

The frosting is delicious!

Here is my other cake that the big people ate. It looks like Deanna Rose Farmstead!

With a great new 'do, after my bath.

A very rough height comparison with Danny. He is taaaaall!! He'll catch me in no time!

Chicago, the 4th, and Random Fun

Dear Everybody,
I finally figured out how to sneak away from my mommy so I can update my blog. Sorry it's been awhile! She and my Daddy are playing on this website called Facebook, so they're distracted! It's hard to get away from them....I try to go in the bathroom, the laundry room, up the stairs, into the bathtub, into the shower, but they are ALWAYS right there! Grrrr.....how's a girl supposed to get any alone time, geeeeez....get a life people....quit following me around. Maybe it'll change when I get big and turn ONE! That's only a few days away!!

Anyway, so, June was lots of fun. We went to this faraway land called Chicago, and we had to take an AIRPLANE to get there! It was my second airplane ride ever. I'm a pro at them now. Only, I don't remember much about the ride, because I kept falling asleep right when we took off. Whoops. But Mom and Dad said I was a rockstar traveler, so that's good I guess. It's good to be nice to them sometimes, because my friend Adele told me they might buy me PRESENTS for my birthday! So, I don't want to mess with that - I'll be good! Chicago was lots of fun - I got to play and play and play and play and play with my friends Adele, Andre, and Andrew. I also got to see my Godmama Kari. I liked exploring her apartment, and her bed was real comfy for my nap too! AND, I got to stay up each night until about 10:00!!! That's super late people!! 'Cept, it took me about a week to get back into my regular routine, AND I caught a cold AND cut two top teeth RIGHT when we got back. So, I was kinda sad for a little while. Cold+teething+missing all my friends+staying up late = Sad Me. But I got over it.

Some other pictures you will see are from the 4th of July. Apparently this is a day for Daddy to stay home and take me and Mommy swimming. Not sure what the big deal was about this day - I kept waiting for something SUPER special to happen, but I went to bed like normal. I did hear some loud booming noises when I was half asleep....not sure what that was all about. Maybe I'll figure it all out next year. WAIT - I just heard another loud boom! How long does this 4th of July stuff go on for anyway???

Enjoy the other pictures - I'm getting BIG!! And, be sure to watch for my teeth! I have 2 on the bottom and two on top! Pretty soon I can eat JAWBREAKERS! YES!

Love, Emmy
Andrew! You have monkeys on your butt!

Crawling away together somewhere....

We totally enjoyed the Brookfield Zoo. :) Andre was the only who got to see the Petting Zoo.

Traveling is HARD WORK!

I love my Godmama Kari!

Here are all the Daddies on Father's Day!

Me and my Daddy on Father's Day.

On the plane, ready to head to home. Minutes later I passed out.

I recently learned how to brush my hair. That's right - that makes me a "Quality Chick."

Climbing on paper plates. I'm awesome.

Happy 4th!

I wasn't all that pleased about the settings my Mommy had the camera on. I tried telling her - that's why I look so upset, but she didn't listen...if you do a close up on this you can see my teeth. Oh yeah, and like my outfit? :)

Me and Mommy!

11 months old, and can still wear my coming home outfit.....yeah, I'm kinda skinny I guess.....

Bye Bye Everyone!

9 Month Happenings

Hi Everyone! So, I'm 9 months old right now, which mommy says is soooo old. Guess what?? There are some really sharp things in my mouth. Sometimes they hurt me so bad that I get really whiny and need tylenol. When Mommy first discovered my sharp things in my mouth, she got really teary-eyed and sad. And, today apparently she bought me something called a toothbrush? And tooth paste? I have yet to experience these things, but I'm curious as to what they are. I sure hope they're not used IN my mouth, because I don't really like people getting in there lately, because my gums are sore! Hmmmm....what else....I went to St. Louis the last weekend in April and saw my friend Andrew! He can crawl and walk along furniture! Such neat tricks! I might be able to do that, too, someday. I'm looking forward to seeing him again in June when I go to this faraway land called Chicago. Some of my other friends will be there too, like Adele, Andre, and maybe Danny! :) AND, I'll get to see my Godmama Kari! Yippee!!

Here are some pictures from the last few weeks for you to enjoy! And, if you want to see more pictures from my trip to S. Louis, click on Daddy's Pictures, which is one of the links on the left hand part of the screen. Happy Spring Everyone!

Love, Emmy

Andrew, 10 mos, and Emily, 9 mos.

"Playing" with the wipes. (this picture makes Mommy roll her eyes...)

Studying hard! ;)

Chilling with my Uncle Dan.

Ok, so I have a lot of toys. So what?? ;)

Mommy decided one day it would be fun to give me mandarin oranges in a bowl, with a fork.

What was she thinking?? ;)

Mom. Seriously. This is embarrassing. I'm 9 months old for goodness sakes,
I'm practically a teenager!

Lately, I LOVE playing with books. Did you know that if you can figure out how to open them, there are pictures on the inside?? SO COOL! It's real hard to get them open, though, but I really try hard not to give up. ;)

Me and that Other Baby

Hey Everyone! Did you know there is another baby that sleeps in my crib with me??? Yeah!! There is!! Lately, when I wake up, I check in with that baby, see how her nap was, see what she's played with so far today, etc. - you know, the usual baby chitchat. Here is a video of me checking in with that baby. Then, I see my Mommy, and I'm happy to see her, too. Enjoy! :)

8 Months Old!

Hi Everyone! Last week I turned 8 months old, and to celebrate, my mommy abandoned me and flew up north to play in the snow and floods. :( But, she's back now safe and sound, and she brought me back some snow for a present. I told her next time don't bother, as no one liked the snow she brought! Hehe! Well, it wasn't ALL bad, because I got to play in it and eat it for the first time. Also, I got baptized on March 22! I was excited to see some of my family, too, including my Grammie and Grandpa Ralph from Iowa! My Godmother Kari was here, too, and my friend Danny let his Mommy and Daddy come over so his Daddy could be my Godfather. It was lots of fun, AND I got to eat my first piece of cake too! THAT was the bestest part of the whole day!!! :) 'Cept, my parents don't have any pictures of that, so they're really hoping someone will send them some. Oh, guess what else. I've been sick. :( I had my first fever the Wednesday before my Baptism, and I've been kicking a cold ever since. But, Mommy says I'm on the mend, which I think means getting better, because I'm sure not coughing much any more, and they haven't put the horrible snot sucker in my nose for a few days now. Oh, and I picked my teams for my first NCAA bracket! My Final Four teams were West Virginia, Utah St, Illinois, and Wisconsin. But all those teams lost real fast, so I don't get to win the 4 dollars, which is the prize. Oh well. I didn't really get it anyway - maybe I'll do better next year! :)

Enjoy the pictures everyone! Happy Almost April!

Love, Emmy

Here I am with my God Mama Kari.

Here I am with my Godfather Aaron.
This snow is BRIGHT!!

(Just so you know - see the green grass under the already melted snow?? That's why I'm not wearing a hat - it was super nice outside!)

Sledding is FUN!
